Estate Agency Wisdom: 20 Quotes You Can’t Afford to Ignore

I recently tuned back into a cracking episode of the ever-engaging Million Dollar Agent podcast.

Hosted by Australian agency bigwigs Tom Panos, John McGrath, and Troy Malcolm, it was an earful of wisdom, to say the least.

Now, let’s not get carried away with the notion that ‘all Aussie agents are remarkable’ – just as it’s daft to claim that every Brazilian footballer is a wizard with the ball.

However, there’s a lot we can absorb from our friends Down Under.

The trio delved into 15 thought-provoking quotes in as many minutes. These are words they believe can genuinely alter the trajectory of one’s career and life.

I’ve cherry-picked some for you and added a few that have always struck a chord with me.

The beauty of quotes is in their subjectivity. What resonates with me might not tickle your fancy and vice versa.

Depending on who you believe on the internet, these quotes come from a source of people, including my old man, Jay-Z, an airport worker, estate agency legends, Tom Panos, Bruce Lee, Eliud Kipchoge, and Seth Godin.

“If you have been blessed, be a blessing.”

“If nothing changes, nothing changes.”

“Only the disciplined ones are free in life.”

“Estate agency is a contact sport.”

“If you don’t want to slip, avoid slippery places.”

“Customer service is the new marketing.”

“Stop selling, start solving.”

“Between stimulus and response, success lies.”

“Without the work, the magic won’t come.”

“The standard pace is for chumps.”

“Knowing is not doing.”

“Be like water, my friend.”

“It’s more important to be compelling than comprehensive.”

“All the pieces matter.”

“Seek progress over perfection.”

“You’re only two decisions and one new skill from everything you have ever dreamed of.”

“There’s often more risk in taking, no risk.”

“Always behave in a way that means you’re welcome to return.”

“Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t.”

“Lions don’t lose sleep over the opinions of sheep.”

I interpret this last quote as utter boll0ck$ on a myriad of levels.

First, sheep can’t talk, and lions are found thousands of miles away from them on a different continent.

If you ever see someone post a quote like this, unfollow them as fast as your fingers allow.

Has a single quote changed the course of your life or the way you do your work?
